Flash 5 Tab Order
Users of traditional HTML forms have gotten used to tabbing through the input fields to enter in their data. Users will do the same thing in Flash, but Flash tabs to elements on the page that we don't want to bother with. This is because, in HTML, a form is bounded by the tag, while in Flash, there is no "form" section -- it's just all movie clips or in the _root timeline. Flash doesn't know any better, so we have to make it a bit smarter -- and meet the user's expectations.

Animation - Tweening

Organizing and structuring your Flash projects Flash tutorial
You have just got an amazing idea for a new exciting flash game and you start coding and designing frantically. Suddenly you stop and you remember that you had to stop working on your last project because you could not understand your code anymore; worse, you could not locate most of it at all. Without even mentioning the fact that you had erased some precious graphics by mistake because of the random naming convention you always apply to your library assets. Right, time for a change...a new Flash developer is about to be born.
Working With XML
Sometimes you need to pass a flash file information. Perhaps you're making a flash-based photo gallery or an mp3 player. Maybe you want to use flash to parse server information. Whatever you need to do, it may make the most sense to use XML to pass your data to flash. Using XML is good because it's easy to parse as flash has built-in XML tools. In order to use an XML file, you need flash to do 2 things: read it and parse it. Here's an example of the code you'd need to read in an XML file (called info.xml) and parse it.
Create a Timeline Animation
Macromedia Flash Basic 8 and Macromedia Flash Professional 8 provide powerful tools for creating animation. Most simple animation in Flash is done using a process known as tweening. Tweening is short for "in between" and refers to filling in the frames between two keyframes so that a graphic displayed in the first keyframe changes into the graphic displayed in the second keyframe. There are two types of tweening that you can create in Flash a motion tween and a shape tween. The main difference between motion tweening and shape tweening is that motion tweening operates on grouped objects or symbols, and shape tweening is used with objects that are not symbols and are ungrouped.
