Difficult one: dynamically select field to update
I have a table with 43 fields and I am building a form to allow users to update the fields in the table. A lot of the fields are memo format, since the data consists of lengthy contract paragraphs.

I know I can make a huge form with all the fields listed one under the other on the page, and the user would then scroll down and fill each box with data. However, I would prefer to make the user's life easy and allow the user to use a combo box to select wich field they want to work on, and then a box right next to the combo would show the value of the current record for that field.

(I know that I can set the combo box Field List property with a list of field names in it, but can I link this to a text box so that anything that is written or displayed within it relates to the field displayed in the combo box

Update table with multiple combo box filters
I hit a big hurdle that I can't get across. I need to update a table using multiple combo box drop down selections to filter the data. My ultimate goal is once the combo box selections target / goto a record, I can use another textbox or combo box to update a field. How would I do this?Should I be using a query?

: my update works when I use the record navigation buttons down on the bottom but I want to use combo boxes to select the record rather than toggling through the records one by one.

Update Value in Combo Box
I want to be able to update value in text box based on the value in a combo box. This would be in a Access form.

For example, I have the following values in a table.

Name Number
Johnson 1234
Curtis 5678
Jones 2468

So, I did the following.

The Row Source of the combo box needs to include both columns (fields).

=[YourComboBox].Column(1)

This worked (when entering data in name field, number field updates in the form) but now I am finding when I add data thru the form the number fields are not updating in the table. All the other fields in the form are updating.

Update fields linked to Combo box

Combo box to List box to Combo box
I have a List box that is filled by a query that is triggered with a combo box, how do I extract the info in that list box so I can fill another combo box. I used Me.List.Value but it does not work. The bound columns are all ok but I cant get it to work. Also I dont know should I use after update on the first combo box to be the trigger for extracting the data or the after update on the list box.
Btw The result of the query is Only one line of data

Refreshing a combo box
I am using the following command after a user selects a combo box for an item and I want the person related tot that item to be updated through a different combo box, the command I am using is;

DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acRecordsMenu, 5, , acMenuVer70

I put this in the After Update on the first combo box and I tried it on the On Got Focus and they both work fine except there is a 5 - 10 second delay before the 2nd combo box populates. Any ideas on how I can make the second Combo Box populate faster

Set Value of TextBox(different value than cmbx) based on yes/no Combo Box
I have a yes/no combo box, default value set to yes. After that value is updated, I want the value of a text box to be a decimal value.

Example: if combo box = yes, then text box = .02, if combo box = no, then text box = 0

I think I can do this with a macro in the after update of the combo box but I'm not sure about the syntax.

This is on one form built off one table. The text box is not on the form, just the combo box

Dependant combo box - update based on another combo box
I'm currently developing a DB at work and I'm stuck with a small problem with two combo-boxes. I have a form with some fields, two of them are two combo-box.

1st Combo-Box:
Combo-Box (Combo1) is currently feeded by the following table:
Category
Id
Description
01 - Category A
02 - Category B

2nd Combo-Box:
Combo-Box (Combo2) is currently feeded by the following table:
Products
Id
Description
01 - Product A
02 - Product B

What I would like to do is to have the second Combo-Box (Combo2) to be automatically updated depending on the values selected on Combo1.
So, If I select Category A on Combo1 I want to have the correspondent Product A on Combo2 and If I select Category B on Combo1 I want to have Product B on Combo2. I have tried some functions but I couldn't get the job done.

Combo box - > label
at Access and I stumbled upon a problem. Can someone tell me how to Link Combo box to Label (or text box), so that it writes value from a field (F_info for example) from the same row as selected value from Combo box (F_name for example). Does this go trough After Update on Combo box and where to write it in Code or Expression builder

Bounded list box query on continuous form shows repeated data for all list boxes
I am still getting my feet wet in access. I have a continuous form where the user selects values from several bounded combo boxes to update information in Table A consisting of 27 existing records.

The row source for the combo boxes are Table 1. The resulting values in the combo box are bounded to Table A to populate the fields. An additional field is populated into a bounded list box through a table query on Table 1 using the combo box values.

The resulting list box value should populates the list box for 27 records when it should only be modifying one.

Is there anyway I can limit the update to one list box and prevent the 27 list boxes from being updated when the contents of the combo boxes are modified?

Using combo box to look up records?????
So I have a combo box. I am using it in my small scale sample DB so as not to screw up my huge DB.

Combo box is named Field 1. It works to lookup the other fields in the DB. It woerks well at this.

Enter wrench in the plan. I bound the combo box to a textbox that I am using a Mid function to pull the data form a barcode that I need.

It pulls the data just fine. Matches what is in the combo box letter for letter. But the combo box won't look up the record anymore
