I have a table with 43 fields and I am building a form to allow users to update the fields in the table. A lot of the fields are memo format, since the data consists of lengthy contract paragraphs.

I know I can make a huge form with all the fields listed one under the other on the page, and the user would then scroll down and fill each box with data. However, I would prefer to make the user's life easy and allow the user to use a combo box to select wich field they want to work on, and then a box right next to the combo would show the value of the current record for that field.

(I know that I can set the combo box Field List property with a list of field names in it, but can I link this to a text box so that anything that is written or displayed within it relates to the field displayed in the combo box

Update Value in Combo Box

Update Value in Combo Box Icon
I want to be able to update value in text box based on the value in a combo box. This would be in a Access form.

For example, I have the following values in a table.

Name Number
Johnson 1234
Curtis 5678
Jones 2468

So, I did the following.

The Row Source of the combo box needs to include both columns (fields).

=[YourComboBox].Column(1)

This worked (when entering data in name field, number field updates in the form) but now I am finding when I add data thru the form the number fields are not updating in the table. All the other fields in the form are updating.

I've attached a very stripped down version of my database. I created a combo box with 3 or 4 fields. normally, you open your combo box, find the record of choice, and you've already chosen which field will be linked to another field. what I'm wanting to do, is when I open my combo box, I wall all 3 fields shown in the combo box to populate certain fields in my form.

I hit a big hurdle that I can't get across. I need to update a table using multiple combo box drop down selections to filter the data. My ultimate goal is once the combo box selections target / goto a record, I can use another textbox or combo box to update a field. How would I do this?Should I be using a query?

: my update works when I use the record navigation buttons down on the bottom but I want to use combo boxes to select the record rather than toggling through the records one by one.

Combo box to List box to Combo box

I have a List box that is filled by a query that is triggered with a combo box, how do I extract the info in that list box so I can fill another combo box. I used Me.List.Value but it does not work. The bound columns are all ok but I cant get it to work. Also I dont know should I use after update on the first combo box to be the trigger for extracting the data or the after update on the list box.
Btw The result of the query is Only one line of data

Refreshing a combo box

I am using the following command after a user selects a combo box for an item and I want the person related tot that item to be updated through a different combo box, the command I am using is;

DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acRecordsMenu, 5, , acMenuVer70

I put this in the After Update on the first combo box and I tried it on the On Got Focus and they both work fine except there is a 5 - 10 second delay before the 2nd combo box populates. Any ideas on how I can make the second Combo Box populate faster

Set Value of TextBox(different value than cmbx) based on yes/no Combo Box

Set Value of TextBox(different value than cmbx) based on yes/no Combo Box Icon
I have a yes/no combo box, default value set to yes. After that value is updated, I want the value of a text box to be a decimal value.

Example: if combo box = yes, then text box = .02, if combo box = no, then text box = 0

I think I can do this with a macro in the after update of the combo box but I'm not sure about the syntax.

This is on one form built off one table. The text box is not on the form, just the combo box

Dependant combo box - update based on another combo box

I'm currently developing a DB at work and I'm stuck with a small problem with two combo-boxes. I have a form with some fields, two of them are two combo-box.

1st Combo-Box:
Combo-Box (Combo1) is currently feeded by the following table:
Category
Id
Description
01 - Category A
02 - Category B

2nd Combo-Box:
Combo-Box (Combo2) is currently feeded by the following table:
Products
Id
Description
01 - Product A
02 - Product B

What I would like to do is to have the second Combo-Box (Combo2) to be automatically updated depending on the values selected on Combo1.
So, If I select Category A on Combo1 I want to have the correspondent Product A on Combo2 and If I select Category B on Combo1 I want to have Product B on Combo2. I have tried some functions but I couldn't get the job done.
