Enter Parameter Value Message when selecting from a combo box

Enter Parameter Value Message when selecting from a combo box
Views: 83
I am selecting the year from a combo box. After the year is selected, the user will click on a command button to view a report. Below is my code that performs the action required. However, once the command button is clicked, I receive a pop up box that states "ENTER PARAMETER VALUE" for cboYear.Value

why does it do this and how do I work around it?

Dim stDocName As String
Dim SelectedYear As Integer
SelectedYear = cboYear.Value
MsgBox (SelectedYear)
stDocName = "Overall Report"
DoCmd.OpenReport stDocName, acPreview, , "Year = cboYear.Value

Enter Parameter Value

I have a form that uses a value list as the row source for a combo box. This works fine. I then added this form as a sub form of another form. When I open the form I get an error message to "Enter Parameter Value". Why is this happening and what do I need to do to remove the error message?

Enter Parameter Value on a subform

I have a main form called AddBlend and a subform called BlendReport. The BlendReport for a combo box called ComboBlend and a text box called txtDate. There is then a report based on a Query called BlendNameQTY. The query has the parameter values in the criteria section so it looks for what is in the combo box and text and then runs the query.

When I added this subform to my main form and run the report I get a message"Enter Parameter Value Forms!BlendReport!ComboBlend" and then "Enter Parameter Value Forms!BlendReport!TxtDate". However, if I go to the forms list and then select the subform only and then enter a value in the combo box and text box the report (and query) run correctly.

Combo Box Manipulation Tactics

MS Access 2010, Win7 x64 Enterprise, back end db is fine.

I'm presenting the user(s) a form, with a combo box that contains 2 columns, I can bind either one, but the value I want stored is numeric. -1 for "Not Known", -2 for "NotApplicable" and x for "Enter Value", where "Enter Value" is a known number > 0.
What happens is the user really doesn't care to see the -2 or -1, but they do want to know what it stands for, or they want to see the actual value they've entered into that field (when selecting "Enter Value").

I've found that the combo box does not like it when you want to display the text value of the field OR the positive numeric value of the field, but the combo box is the user-requested medium to present the field.

I tossed around the idea of a text box to store the value as well, and making it visible/enabled when selecting "Enter Value" but it doesn't seem to be viable.

Add combo box to parameter query

I am trying to narrow down records of students by subject code and time code. I have a parameter query that prompts users to enter the values. Is there anyway that I can have a combo box instead of having users enter the data themselves

Cascading Combo Boxes in a Subform

I have a main form [Quote Details] with a subform [Quote Query]. The subform has the following cascading combo boxes which are bound to controls on the subform:

[CODE]

PROBLEM: When I open the main form [Quote Details], it opens just fine with all the subform fields blank. I go to the subform, click on the [cmbSupplier] and select the supplier. When I press enter, a message box pops up Enter Parameter Value: Forms!Quote Details!Quote Query!cmbSupplier.

If I enter the SupplierID in this box again, the cmbProduct populates correctly. I do not understand why it asks me for the parameter value when I just entered it.

Navigation Form prompts Enter Parameter Value

I created a form, frmOCP, which has a combo box, cboFilterContract, in the header and a continuous form in the body. The continuous form populates with records based on the selection in the combo box (the combo box applies a filter to show just those records that are in the selected category). This form does exactly what I need it to do as a stand-alone.

However, I also have a central Navigation Form, frmNavigation, with tabs to different forms, including frmOCP. When I click on the frmOCP tab in frmNavigation, I get an Enter Parameter Value pop-up box, frmOCP!cboFilterContract.

As it happens, when I type in the name of the category that I want into this pop-up, the parameter works and I get what I want (the continuous form populates properly).

I don't want it to prompt with a pop-up box, since the user uses cboFilterContract to do this. How do I suppress thepop-up box?

Enter Data in Field or Have it Auto Populate from a Combo

I have a form that I am using for a parameter entry. The user is to enter the building number in a combo box field which is connected as the parameter in the query. I want to add a feature, maybe a combo box, that if they don't know the building number they can look it up by the address.

When they select an address I want the building number associated with it to populate the first field.

Cascading 3 Combo Boxes

I am trying to cascade three combo boxes (Area>Bone>FracDesc1) and I have three tables (tblArea, tblBone, tblFracDesc1) that I am working with. I am able to connect the first two combo boxes so that when I select a value in the Area combo box, it filters the choices for the Bone combo box.

However, when I select the value in the Bone combo box, I get a pop up saying "Enter Parameter Value." I cannot figure out how to get the Bone combo box to filter for the FracDesc1 combo box.
