Enter Parameter Value Message when selecting from a combo box

I am selecting the year from a combo box. After the year is selected, the user will click on a command button to view a report. Below is my code that performs the action required. However, once the command button is clicked, I receive a pop up box that states "ENTER PARAMETER VALUE" for cboYear.Value

why does it do this and how do I work around it?

Dim stDocName As String
Dim SelectedYear As Integer
SelectedYear = cboYear.Value
MsgBox (SelectedYear)
stDocName = "Overall Report"
DoCmd.OpenReport stDocName, acPreview, , "Year = cboYear.Value

Enter Parameter Value
I have a form that uses a value list as the row source for a combo box. This works fine. I then added this form as a sub form of another form. When I open the form I get an error message to "Enter Parameter Value". Why is this happening and what do I need to do to remove the error message?

Enter Parameter Value on a subform
I have a main form called AddBlend and a subform called BlendReport. The BlendReport for a combo box called ComboBlend and a text box called txtDate. There is then a report based on a Query called BlendNameQTY. The query has the parameter values in the criteria section so it looks for what is in the combo box and text and then runs the query.

When I added this subform to my main form and run the report I get a message"Enter Parameter Value Forms!BlendReport!ComboBlend" and then "Enter Parameter Value Forms!BlendReport!TxtDate". However, if I go to the forms list and then select the subform only and then enter a value in the combo box and text box the report (and query) run correctly.

Combo Box Manipulation Tactics
MS Access 2010, Win7 x64 Enterprise, back end db is fine.

I'm presenting the user(s) a form, with a combo box that contains 2 columns, I can bind either one, but the value I want stored is numeric. -1 for "Not Known", -2 for "NotApplicable" and x for "Enter Value", where "Enter Value" is a known number > 0.
What happens is the user really doesn't care to see the -2 or -1, but they do want to know what it stands for, or they want to see the actual value they've entered into that field (when selecting "Enter Value").

I've found that the combo box does not like it when you want to display the text value of the field OR the positive numeric value of the field, but the combo box is the user-requested medium to present the field.

I tossed around the idea of a text box to store the value as well, and making it visible/enabled when selecting "Enter Value" but it doesn't seem to be viable.

Add combo box to parameter query
I am trying to narrow down records of students by subject code and time code. I have a parameter query that prompts users to enter the values. Is there anyway that I can have a combo box instead of having users enter the data themselves

Filter Combo box on another combo box in Navigation Form
I have just started using the Navigation Form having stumbled across it. It makes a lovely looking form however I have some issues;

I want to filter a combo box from another combobox in the form. I have this this up in my DataEntryForm and it works fine.

It does not work in the Navigation form.

I get the error message:
ENTER PARAMETER VALUE

Cascading Combo Boxes in a Subform
I have a main form [Quote Details] with a subform [Quote Query]. The subform has the following cascading combo boxes which are bound to controls on the subform:

[CODE]

PROBLEM: When I open the main form [Quote Details], it opens just fine with all the subform fields blank. I go to the subform, click on the [cmbSupplier] and select the supplier. When I press enter, a message box pops up Enter Parameter Value: Forms!Quote Details!Quote Query!cmbSupplier.

If I enter the SupplierID in this box again, the cmbProduct populates correctly. I do not understand why it asks me for the parameter value when I just entered it.

Navigation Form prompts Enter Parameter Value
I created a form, frmOCP, which has a combo box, cboFilterContract, in the header and a continuous form in the body. The continuous form populates with records based on the selection in the combo box (the combo box applies a filter to show just those records that are in the selected category). This form does exactly what I need it to do as a stand-alone.

However, I also have a central Navigation Form, frmNavigation, with tabs to different forms, including frmOCP. When I click on the frmOCP tab in frmNavigation, I get an Enter Parameter Value pop-up box, frmOCP!cboFilterContract.

As it happens, when I type in the name of the category that I want into this pop-up, the parameter works and I get what I want (the continuous form populates properly).

I don't want it to prompt with a pop-up box, since the user uses cboFilterContract to do this. How do I suppress thepop-up box?

Enter Data in Field or Have it Auto Populate from a Combo
I have a form that I am using for a parameter entry. The user is to enter the building number in a combo box field which is connected as the parameter in the query. I want to add a feature, maybe a combo box, that if they don't know the building number they can look it up by the address.

When they select an address I want the building number associated with it to populate the first field.

Cascading 3 Combo Boxes
I am trying to cascade three combo boxes (Area>Bone>FracDesc1) and I have three tables (tblArea, tblBone, tblFracDesc1) that I am working with. I am able to connect the first two combo boxes so that when I select a value in the Area combo box, it filters the choices for the Bone combo box.

However, when I select the value in the Bone combo box, I get a pop up saying "Enter Parameter Value." I cannot figure out how to get the Bone combo box to filter for the FracDesc1 combo box.

Value list in Parameter Value
I have a Parameter Query and I want to have a Parameter Value Box not just asking to enter a Department but showing list of these department (like a combo box), and, if possible, giving user the ability to choose from this list instead of typing it. Is it possible?

query criteria issue
I have a form with a combo box which displays Names, which runs through a query, and is used to select a record for the rest of the form to display. I added a second combo to display state abbreviations (stored in the combo box properties).

I would like to use the state combo to filter the names in the first combo. I went into the query and added the Locality field (the field that holds the state abbreviations in the table that is queried) and under criteria wrote [Forms]![FormName]![ComboBoxName].

I then created a button and assigned a macro to requery the the Name combo box.

This worked for a minute and then then I saved is as a different file name (the whole DB). Now in both files it does the same thing. When I press the button to filter the names an input box appears asking me to enter a parameter value.

I am unsure why it is asking me for a parameter value and not taking the selected value from the state combo box.

Get combo box value to generate report
Two combo box, one is cboMonth and one is cboYear. I am trying to get the values from these 2 combo box, and used the value to generate report. however, when i click the btnPrintSummary button, system keep prompting me to enter parameter value.

synchronized Combo Boxes in subforms
I am using MS Access 2003 and have created a form using two combo boxes where I select the state from the first combo box. The second combo box is controlled by a query that looks at the first combo box so that when you change the state name in the first combo box it requires and then lists the available counties in the second combo box. This works very well but when I place this form as a subform and link the master and child fields the form finds several records which is right.

But when I try to change the state name on one of the records in the in the first combo box in the subform and then pick the second combo box for the updated county list it does not find the correct state and wants me to enter the parameter value. I think that because I have it require the list of available counties that it looses track of the record that I changed in the subform. Is there something I can do so that works right in the subform?

Synchronize Two Combo Boxes on a Form
This topic illustrates how to synchronize two combo boxes so that when you select an item in the first combo box, the selection limits the choices in the second combo box. For example, you may want the products displayed in a combo box to be limited to the category selected in another combo box.

Choose Parameter combo box for report
I would like to make the Choose Parameter box into a combo box, I've been trying to use a form to no avail so far, and if it does work, it still opens a Choose Parameter box, then opensthe query as well as the report.
Here's the code I've been playing with, a.t.m. the Run my Report button does nothing, so I click cancel and then the Choose Parameter box pops up.
[code]
I just want to choose from a drop down box and have the corresponding report appear with all of it's subreports referring to the same thing.

Form with parameter query subform
I am trying to create a form that uses a combo box as the criteria value for a query that is displayed in a subform below the combo box. Because I am new to access, I can't quite figure it out.

Given the example of using the form to enter product quantities, I would like the user to be able to select the company from a combo box, then this would auto-update a query contained in a subform below the combo box to display all the products made by that company. The user would then select the product in the subform and enter the quantity in a textbox below the subform.

My purpose for the form is not the same as this, but for the sake of simplicity, this scenario is easier. Is this possible?

So far, all I have figured out is that Forms!Form1.ComboBox (with the correct names replaced of course) goes in the criteria value under the same field that the combo box contains

Filter presented data by user input
I would like users to get filtered report data based on a combo-box or similar. How do I do this? I tried this:
1) I created a form "frm1" with a combo-box "combo1" choosing from values in a column in query "qry1".
2) I then made a query "qry2" like this:

SELECT *
FROM qry1
WHERE column1=!Form!frm1!Combo1;

But when I go to qry2's datasheet view expecting a filtered result based on the chosen value in the combo box I get a message box requiring me to "Enter parameter value" of "!Form!frm1!Combo1".

If I enter a value the query successfully filters. But that's not how I want it to work as you can imagine

synch 2 combo boxes in datasheet view
I get an "Enter Parameter" box when clicking the 2nd combo box on subform which is on the mainform. Is the reference in the query incorrect ? If so what should it be ? I attach the db so you can see exactly what I mean

select a parameter from combobox to a query parameter
I have a select query, which is used in creating the report, the sql is as follows:

when I try to run the query, it asks for the parameter, and when I input the [Employee ID], it runs the query for that Employee ID.

I wanted to open the query/report by selecting the employee ID from a combo box, instead of typing the [Employee ID].
