Building an Estimating Database

I have two tables; Activity Schedule and Resources. I would like to add many different resources to one activity from the activity schedule. I think i need another table but i am not sure how to set up the relationships effectively.

Eventually i would like a form where it has the activity listed in the top half and the resources listed in the bottom half and some buttons where you would click on them to add the resource to the activity. This would then calculate the cost of the all the resources for each activity.

I didn't change anything on my database and my forms were working one minute, What should I do? It is looking like something is corrupt.

After I post this I am going to try to import the database into a new database to see if that works.

My Access 2010 database is corrupt and I was wondering if anyone has suggestions of a tool that can be used to fix it.
I can open the database, but I can't open any table, form, module, etc. I also can't export, or import from another database.
Repairing with the build in Access repair tool also does not work. For all these actions the error window comes up with "Access has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Any third party tools that you know of perhaps

I've already checked out [LINK] as was suggested on other posts, but no success yet.

When selecting a value for one field how do you get other fields to auto populate

I have a form and a user selects the Activity Type. Each activity type has an activity # associated with it. I want the Item # to populate automatically when the Activity Type is chosen. I am pulling this info from another table that stores all the info, which I use as a lookup

Corrupt Database: Possible solution?

I have a corrupt ms-Access mdb which contains many hours of development work. Arrgghh!

In the past I have been able to use the "/decompile" switch, followed by a repair and compact in order to get into the file. Indeed, even when I couldn't fix the corruption, I found that I was able to copy the components out of the file into an empty mdb.

But this time none of that seems to work and I keep getting messages like "The database 'c:\xxx.mdb' can't be repaired or isn't a Microsoft Access database file". A message which also appears when I try to import into an new, empty MS-Access mdb.

I really hope that someone out there has a suggestion for me (or a helpful link

lookup next ref on data entry

I'm having brain freeze over a database I am workin on and can't seem to find a way to make it work

What I'm looking to do is:

I have an account activity table that has an activity id, activity type (eg
invoice, credit note, payment, deposit etc etc), Ref and a number of other fields. The activity id is an auto number and what I want is to have the Ref to also be an auto number but be determined by the activity type so for example
I enter a new activity which for example is a invoice it looks up the last ref for an invoice type (type 2) and uses the next number - if I enter a credit note it looks up last number credit note as property type and uses the next number for credit note

I thought of using something like

on update

Me.Ref = Format(DMax("ActivityID", "Activity", Type= "2") + 1)

not sure if I'm on the right track would this even work
