An Unhandled win32 exception occurred in MSAccess.exe

I am importing a database from DB2 to Access but prompted by the error from Visual Studio Just-in-time Debugger with the error of "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in MSAccess.exe" and asked to Send Error Report to Microsoft from the dianlog box "Access has encountered a problem and needs to close".

I went to web site searching for the solution and some of them said if the PC installed SQL server 2005 will be generated the error of this.

My PC used be able to import the database from DB2 before installing the SQL server client instance. Would that be the problem? How can I work around this problem and still be able to import DB2 database to Access

MSACCESS.exe has problems that MSARN200.exe doesn't
I'm trying to redesign an old database (mdb) that was created with Access 97 because some reports are not being generated correctly. It was distributed with and intended to be opened by MSARN200.exe. This works fine, but I cannot redesign any forms or debug any problems. But when I try to open up the same database with a MSACCESS.exe (97 version), I get the troublesome "the current user account doesn't have permission to convert or enable this database." I've joined the workgroup as an Admin (stored in an MDA file that was also distributed with the database) to no avail. Is there something that makes the MSARN200.exe unique in opening the database?

Executing Access macro
I execute an access macro from a batch file. I use this command:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\MSACCESS.EXE" file.mdb /x Import /nostartup

The macro is executed correctly but I see always that access window starts, even if I use /nostartup command. How is possible?

the second problem is about what happens when the macro gives an error.
I would like that in every case msaccess process is killed. This macro is scheduled in windows task, so every morning when I open task manager, I see a lot of msaccess.exe processes.

So I would like to know how to force the killing of access process when the work is ok but also when it's not ok. Now I use the "Quit" command inside macro. I see also a lot of other commands but I don't know which is better to use

last thing: is it possible to wite the result of the macro executed by access in a log file? If not how can I know if the macro is ok or not

MSACCESS Remains in TaskMgr after Exit
I'm setting a scheduled task to run a macro from an Access 2007 database (actually Access 2007 linked to an Intersystems Cache database). When I run it the report is displayed as desired and the window closes, but in Taskmgr MSACCESS.exe is still running. How do I get it to exit

Multiple updates in single query
All,
How can I run multiple update statements that join to other tables, using 1 sql script? Here is the query I have now that is failing. Ideas?

IIF( [exception].[Assigned_to_id] = [UserInfo2].[id]),
IIF( [exception].[Assigned_to_id] = [UserInfo3].[id

Access Database causing crash error VBE7.dll
I have an access database that seems to be crashing for no reason. The only thing I can thin is that something is going on with a VBA module I was working on. Long story short it doesn't happen with other files but anytime I load of this database within a minute or so it just crashes.

I can cause an instant crash by entering text into a form which is tied to some VBA script.

It doesn't give an error it just dies and the windows "you program broke" message comes up. after checking the event viewer I found the following

Error | 7/12/2011 8:28:47 AM | Application Error | 1000 | (100) Faulting application name: MSACCESS.EXE, version: 14.0.6024.1000, time stamp: 0x4d83e4fc

Fault offset: 0x00120b7a
Faulting process id: 0xa8c
Faulting application start time: 0x01cc408f2020703d
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\MSACCESS.EXE

I have tried a repair on the database through access but access crashes every time. I also did a repair on Office to be sure it wasn't an issue with Access itself.

Also it crashes anytime I try to go into the VBA script editor.

Excel to secure Access
I have code written to go to a certain form with a where statement. It runs okay when the Access application path is put in in the format:

application = "D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\MSACCESS.EXE"

application = (SysCmd(acSysCmdAccessDir)) & "MSACCESS.EXE"
I get the error: Run-time error '2046': The command or action 'OpenForm' isn't available now. Debug brings me to this line:

accObj.DoCmd.OpenForm "frm_Angebotsplanung", , , "Angebotsnummer='" & AngebotsID & "'", , acWindowNormal

Is (SysCmd(acSysCmdAccessDir)) correct? I also tried SysCmd(acSysCmdAccessDir). Access does start in the taskbar and the popup window for the username and password appears and leaves when user finishes filling it in.

Access is still listed in Task Manager after closing
Once my Access app is closed and I execute a DoCmd.Quit on the main forms' exit button, "msaccess.exe" still shows up as active in Windows Task Manager.

Quit closes the app and shuts down Access completely. Any remedies via VBA that I can include in the app to ensure that it gets flushed from task manager when the app and MSAccess shut down?

Open another database using a button
I'm trying to open another database and close the original by clicking on a button on a form (the second database will then backup the first). I'm very much an MVB novice and am blundering around a bit, but I've almost got it working using a Call Shell command. Only the path I am using for the .mdb file isn't accepted in full:
I'm using:

Call Shell("C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\MSACCESS.EXE D:\Users\Joe Brown\Documents\Database Stuff\Backup.mdb", 1)

But the program seems to try and open a file called "Joe.mdb", implying that it doesn't like the spaces in the address - yet it's quite happy with the address for the MSACCESS.EXE file. It works fine if I place "Backup.mdb" in the "Users" folder and change the address accordingly.

Is it looking for a DOS address, and if so how do I find this? Or does anyone have any better suggestions as to how I do this

Option to Add Win32 resource file to project
Can anyone tell me if this option is available in VB.NET 05/08, I want to add Win32 resource file (.res) to project but I can't find any option to do that, and the option was in C#. This not a regular resource, it was created using native resources template.

Below are the screenshots of Application tab in project property from C# and VB IDE. The option that I'm lookingfor is in red box on C# screenshot

Migration to web
I have MSAccess 2003 databases. Now my client wants to move these databases to web enable technologies like PHP.
The constraint he has is, he want to keep msaccess databases at backend and want new gui in web enable technologies. So that his data remain in msaccess and only gui may develop. I also have to include roles, so that every user may access only authorize area.

What is the good way to accomplish this task with msaccess as backend

FileNotFoundException was unhandled
I have a program that can save user's input into a text file and load it back, but whenever I try to open a text file and exit without selecting the file I get an error.(if I select thefile and open it I don't get any errors).

this is the code that handles text file loading

[CODE]

the error is :"FileNotFoundException was unhandled. Could not find file at x" also I would like to know how to make it so that the initial file name for file saving is today's date.

Microsoft Access 2007 - 2010 Compatibility
Is it possible to create a database in Access2010 and then once it is created - give it to a client who is running MsAccess 2007 ?

Perhaps it can be converted to an .exe file? Is this possible?

I don't want to use the Access2010 runtime as it disables a lot of features

Other option
The company I work for Has Microsoft SQL backend With msaccess front end with 8 user.

The front end run there whole production system which I wrote have a new accountant has just started he like the SQL BACKEND But is asking is msaccess the right front end.

So my question what other option they have not using msaccess front end

Using a Windows Form .exe as a Class Library .dll
I have a Windows Form application compiled to a .exe that contains standard classes and one windows form class. I would like to reference that .exe in another project. The dialog to addreferences shows .exe, I add the file to my project, I can see the classes from that file but when I run the second executable I get a "cannot load type" error when I try toaccess the classes contained in the referenced .exe

That behavior seems strange to me since the IDE accept the .exe as a reference and even "intelisenses" its classes.

I do this because I want a standalone version of the form, but I also reuse it in other project. what's the best practice in my scenario? I'd rather not maintain both aClass Library project and a Windows Form project that includes the same code.
